Butterfly Pocket | Fabric Painting

Joskus kesällä vaikkapa koiraa lenkittäessä ärsyttää, jos sortseissa ei olekaan taskua avaimille. Viime keväänä päätin ratkaista ongelman tekemällä irtotaskun, jonka saa sidottua vyötärölle. Ompelin taskun mustasta puuvillasatiinista ja liitin siihen matonkuteiden joukosta löytyneen nauhan.

Seuraavaksi suunnittelin perhoskuvion, hahmottelin sen taskun etupuolelle ja maalasin valkoisella kangasvärillä. Vielä kiinnitys silitysraudalla ja pesu, niin tasku oli valmis käyttöön. Tarkoitus oli lisäksi koristella perhosta helmin, mutta se jäi.

Sometimes in the summer when I go walk the dog etc., I don't have a pocket in my clothes for keys. So last spring I decided to make a pocket I can tie around my waist. I sewed it from black cotton satin and painted a butterfly on it.

Attaching by ironing, then washed, and it was ready for use. I was also going to add some pearls but still haven't done it.

How to Transfer Sketch onto Painting Surface

As I've mentioned before, I don't usually draw my sketches for paintings straight onto watercolor paper or canvas. I draw the sketch on a separate paper, where it's easier to erase and clean up the outlines and then transfer the finished sketch onto my painting surface. How to Save Leftover Acrylic Paint for Later

A quick tip on how to save acrylic paint for later! If you mix too much acrylic paint or pour too much paint out of the tube, do you know what to do with the leftover paint? If you're planning to continue painting the next day, you can't just leave it, cause acrylic paint will dry by then.
