One morning we took a bus to the capital of Gran Canaria (or one of the two capitals of the Canary Islands): Las Palmas. You could go round the city with a sightseeing bus, but we decided to just walk around. We began and ended our walk at the San Telmo bus station (where the toilet doors don't close, by the way). Our route went through the Triana shopping street, Vegueta area with a lot of colorful houses close to each other and the promenade.

 Yhtenä aamuna matkustimme bussilla Gran Canarian pääkaupunkiin (tai toiseen Kanariansaarten pääkaupungeista): Las Palmasiin. Kaupunkia voi kiertää turistibussilla, mutta päätimme vain kävellä ympäriinsä. Aloitimme ja lopetimme lenkin San Telmon bussiasemalle (jossa vessan ovet eivät muuten mene kiinni). Reittimme kulki Triana-shoppailukadun, Veguetan alueen (jossa on paljon värikkäitä taloja lähekkäin) ja rantakadun läpi.

Walking on the promenade we saw people in up in the church tower looking over the city and decided to go there. The building was actually the Saint Anna Cathedral. We first went in the Cathedral to see it from the inside along with a few exhibitions (it cost 3 euros per person) and then realized that's not how you get to the tower. When we got out of the Cathedral and turned a corner (or two) we found the entrance to the tower (price 1,50 euros). We took an elevator up and got to the first sightseeing place. And then we walked up the stairs to get to the actual tower. It was pretty windy and cramped up there but the view was amazing. We tried to take the stairs when going down, but quickly noticed the lights were out and had to get back to the elevator. 

Kävellessämme rantakadulla, näimme ihmisiä ylhäällä kirkon tornissa katsomassa maisemia, ja päätimme mennä sinne. Kyseessä oleva rakennus oli Pyhän Annan katedraali. Menimme ensin katsomaan muutamaa näyttelyä ja katedraalin sisälle (hinta 3 e) ja sitten tajusimme, ettei torniin pääse sitä kautta. Piti mennä vielä kulman (tai parin) ympäri, jotta tornin sisäänpääsy löytyi (hinta 1,50 e). Menimme hissillä ensimmäiselle tasanteelle ja rappusia pitkin tornin huipulle. Tornissa oli tuulista ja ahdasta, mutta näköala kaupungin yli oli sen arvoinen. Yritimme mennä alaspäin portaita pitkin, mutta portaikko olikin pimeänä ja palasimme takaisin hissille.

How to Save Leftover Acrylic Paint for Later

A quick tip on how to save acrylic paint for later! If you mix too much acrylic paint or pour too much paint out of the tube, do you know what to do with the leftover paint? How to Transfer Sketch onto Painting Surface

As I've mentioned before, I don't usually draw my sketches for paintings straight onto watercolor paper or canvas. I draw the sketch on a separate paper, where it's easier to erase and clean up the outlines and then transfer the finished sketch onto my painting surface.
