Palma de Mallorca

Now that the Madeira posts are done, I'll continue these "travel Mondays" with Mallorca (or Majorca). So these photos are from last May. Our hotel was in Alcudia, which is a beach resort. But we had a one day trip to the capital, Palma. It was an unorganized trip, we just took the bus from Alcudia to Palma (it cost 6 euros). The bus ride took about an hour. It happened to be a cloudier, a bit colder day, so it was very fitting for wandering around the city.

We did a bit of shopping and then tried to find the gothic La Seu cathedral. Well, it's not the one in the photo below as we first thought. Turns out La Seu is a tiny bit bigger and we found it closer to the harbor. There was no way to fit the whole cathedral into one photo. After that we wandered around the harbor area and then headed back to the bus terminal via a different route. We only spent less than a day in Palma, but I think there'd be enough to see for days.

  1. Nice pictures, I hope you enjoyed your day in Palma. I used to live there, and I assure you that you're right: there is a lot more to see there! I didn't see everything in 5 years! :D
